First Post! Time Management
Welcome! I am glad that everyone is here. Before we get into the first post I want to explain a little about what I hope to do here with my blog. My aim is to help you with the things in life that you wish they would have taught you in school. Things such as social graces, finances, and the overall ins and outs of life. Because, unfortunately, life does not come with a handbook. Learning from others, while may only serve as a guideline and not a direct path, will certainly help. Let’s start with Time Management.
With this being the first post, I feel that it is only fitting that we start with one of the things I believe to be the biggest key and the strongest foundation to build to get what you want out of life. Time management! I can already hear it now, “But Dean, I want my life spontaneous and how boring is it to have everything planned out everyday”. “But Mr. Westin, I am already incredibly busy and I don’t have time to plan my day”. Or the best one “What if some days I only want to lounge around and do nothing. How do I plan for that?” All of these are wonderful and truly good………excuses. If you already understand the great importance of time management and are looking for ways to implement it into your life look at my post: Manage YOUR Time
Before we get into how to manage your time, let me explain why I view time management as one of the most important things in your life. Time is something you will NEVER get back. Once it is gone, once that moment passes, it will never be back. You can not stay late and make more time, you can not buy more time, and you can not import/export, learn, earn, or gain more time. We are only given 1,440 minutes a day. We are only given 365 days a year.
Give yourself more time!!
If you want your incredibly busy life to feel more in control, plan it! Not a rough out line, but down to the very minute of every activity of the day! If you want your life to be more in your control, plan it out and take back your time. If you have interruptions at work, plan for them to reclaim your time! When you want to do nothing and just binge watch “One Tree Hill” (which I recommend everyone to do!), plan it, then do it! Now that you have decided to use your time more wisely – I explain how to execute your plan here: Manage YOUR Time
